Help is Available to Complete Property Tax and Rent Rebate Applications

Senator Robert M. "Tommy" Tomlinson (R-6) announced today that applications for this year's Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program are now available in his Bensalem, Levittown, and Richboro offices.

The Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate program provides up to $650 in property tax relief or rent assistance to eligible Pennsylvanians.

"In today's difficult times the Property Tax and Rent Rebate program can make a difference and save people money," said Senator Tomlinson.

"This program provides assistance to some of our most vulnerable citizens and I encourage those to call or visit if they need help completing the application. Many people are unaware that they qualify for assistance and those with questions should call one of my district offices."

Residents eligible for the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program include those 65 or older, widows and widowers 50 or older, and those 18 or older who are disabled. Annual household income may not exceed $35,000, although only half of any Social Security income and railroad retirement benefits are counted in that calculation.

The legislature expanded the program in 2006 to allow more residents to qualify and to increase rebate amounts. Applications for the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program are due June 30, 2010.  Rebate checks will be mailed beginning July 1.

Please visit the Department of Revenue:  Online Property Tax/Rent Rebate Form Ordering for the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Application. The Property Tax and Rent Rebate applications can also be found here

Senator Tomlinson encourages eligible constituents to contact any of these district offices to schedule an appointment to have the application completed.   Senator Tomlinson has three district offices to assist constituents:
